If you’re a fan of the Caribbean islands, then you should definitely make your way to Martinique. This is a cosmopolitain place with white, sandy beaches, French cuisine, luxury shops and tropical rainforests.

When you’re there, make sure to check out the following sites:

• Jardin de Balata: a beautiful botanical garden where you can experience the wildlife of Martinique with your partner or entire family.

• Anse Dufour: one of the best snorkel beaches in the world. It’s not a commercialised beach, so vendors won’t get in your face. This small, quiet and relaxing beach also offers places where you can grab a snack.

• Tropicanyon – Le Canyoning pour Tous: be adventurous and go on a Canyoning & Rappelling Tour. Tourists rated it 10/10 on TripAdvisor—perfect for those who want a bit of a thrill on their vacation.

• Grand Marche: a small market where you can buy fruits, vegetables and some souvenirs. The street next to it offers restaurants with delicious food for lunch.

Punta del Este, Uruguay

Looking for another seaside escape? Head over to Punta del Este in Uruguay, a big designation for those who love a good nightlife. But if that’s not your cup of tea, then there’s plenty more to see and do. Punta is also a go-to designation for New Year’s Eve, so if you don’t have any plans, we recommend you spend the ends of 2016 in this tropical city.

Besides the nightlife, make sure to check out the following sites:

• Puerto de Punta del Este: a go-to spot for amazing restaurants and fresh seafood.

• Playa Mansa: a quiet, sheltered beach with gorgeous views that’s great for small children as well.

• Arboretum Lussich: a lovely park for a nice stroll with a botanical garden, perfect for those who are looking to take a break from the beach, restaurants and busy streets.

• Colinas De Garzon: wine and olive oil tasting tours.

Les Trois Vallées, France

Les Trois Valleés (The Three Valleys), located in the French Alps, offers one of the best places to ski in the world. You can book all-inclusive packages to the hotels, which includes lift tickets and equipment rentals (food is usually separate). There are also plenty of Michelin-starred restaurants in Corchevel that you can try out—more than any other ski resort. This is the perfect getaway for a luxurious winter wonderland experience. If you go, here’s a list of the top restaurants you must try.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi are too touristy, so if you’re looking to head to the Middle East, you must go see Oman. It’s home to some stunning beaches, isolated deserts, and luxury spas and hotels. The best part, it’s not full of tourists. And since it’s winter, the weather is ideal (at least we think so) with sunny days, chilly evenings.

When you’re there, make sure to check out the following sites:

• Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque: an exquisite must see mosque in Muscat. Make sure to arrive in the morning during visiting hours between 8-11am so that you can have a chance to see the inside.

• Royal Opera House: a beautiful architectural jewel in Muscat to catch an opera (if there is a show), otherwise there are luxury restaurants and shops nearby—perfect for an evening stroll.

• Oman Fjords: an amazingly beautiful place that must be experienced. From fjords and dolphins to spectacular views of the barren rocky mountains and gorgeous clear turquoise sea. There are very little people here, so it almost feels like you have escaped to Mars.

• Al Mughsail Beach: if you’re in Oman, you have to check out the beach! Al Mughsail Beach is located in Salalah. There are caves and a sinkhole (fountain) here that adds on to its beauty (a great location for the perfect photo). Plus, you can enjoy some salty mangoes and fruits sold outside for a delicious, fresh snack.
