Beginning in July of this year, Emirates will debut their new lounges onboard their new A380s, and it’s going to look like a bar on a private yacht.
The official design will be announced at ITB Berlin in mid-March, but Emirates’ president Sir Tim Clark said, “…we have increased the seating space, and also made it more intimate and conducive for our passengers to socialise or enjoy our lounge service”. We’re pretty excited, are you?

The shape of the bar will stay the same, but the airline plans to add more seats by the windows on the left and right side, which will be accompanied by a table as well as a fantastic view of the sky and clouds through the airplane windows. With the seating addition, the onboard lounge will be able to fit up to 26 passengers, eight of which will be able to sit down.
Aside from extra seats and more room, you’ll also be able to enjoy these new features:
• soundproof curtains to separate the cabins from the lounge
• blinds for the windows
• mood lighting
• subwoofers for surround sound
• 55-inch entertainment screen to watch the latest shows, films, sports and more
Emirates has confirmed that these new lounges will only be installed on their new A380s, and not on all previous A380s (of which they have 100+ in service).
Clark said, “The A380 onboard lounge is hugely popular with our customers, and has become an iconic feature of Emirates’ A380 offering”.
