Qatar Airways has recently unveiled their new business class seats—the Qsuites—which will be available on their new Boeing 777-300ER beginning this June, and they are the first of its kind. The middle seat converts into a double bed, bringing you “a new level of luxury” to business class.
From sliding privacy doors and entertainment screens that slide back, to more space for yourself and family—Qsuites is definitely a cabin you can look forward to. Let’s take a deeper look at these world-class seats.
Most business class seats are not designed well for couples or families traveling together, however Qatar’s new business class is perfect for both couples and single passengers.
If you happen to be traveling in a pair, we recommend booking a middle seat that turns into a double bed. The middle seats are not all the same, either. One row will have seats right next to each other, while the next row will have seats that are somewhat more separated.
Traveling with a family of four? Then you can slide back the 21.5 inch entertainment screens to create a full-sized family room, so that everyone can see and talk to one another. You can go from this…
Aside from the 21.5 inch entertainment screens moving, the seat itself can convert into a fully-flat bed, measuring 79 inches. The suite has walls that are 53 inches high, the perfect size so that you have enough privacy to yourself, but just high enough for a flight attendant to be at your hand and foot without having to open your door.
Ready to catch some zzz’s? Then hit the “do not disturb” button, and your seat light will change to a reddish colour so that no one will even think about disturbing you (just don’t forget to turn it back on when you do need something).
But that’s not it. The seat also has a tap and go reader that can be used to purchase Internet or make a call using the aircrafts personal phone service, as well as, allow you to set up an inflight music and video playlist. All you have to do is download the Qatar Airways app, select your songs and films/shows before your flight, and then tap the app on the reader when you get to your seat, which will then transfer the playlist to your entertainment screen. Magic! 🙂
These high-end seats are extraordinary, and Akbar Al Baker, Qatar’s CEO, said these suites “will change the way people travel in business class”.
The airline will soon be upgrading it’s dining, amenities and entertainment services later this year as well, which will make the experiences even better than it is today (which is anything but exquisite).
In addition to adding these seats on the new 777-300ERs, the airline will also install the Qsuites in their A350s and other 777s. Unfortunately, due to the curved design of the A380s, Qatar will not be able to place the suites on the superjumbos.
