Winning a SKYTRAX Airline Award is like winning an Oscar—it’s one of the most reputable awards in the world that are given to airlines.

Aside from the World’s Best AirlineWorld’s Top Most Improved AirlineWorld’s Best Business Class and World’s Best First Class, the World’s Best Airline Cabin Staff is another important category desired by all of the airlines on Earth.

This notable award acknowledges the highest all-round performance of a carrier’s cabin crew, comprising of service techniques, efficiency, attention, passion, attitude, friendliness and hospitality. This year’s top ten airlines was made up of mostly Asian airlines with a few airlines that won various prestigious awards in other SKYTRAX categories. Here’s who made it to the top in the World’s Best Airline Cabin Staff for 2017:

No.1: Garuda Indonesia

This is the fourth time in a row Garuda Indonesia was presented with the “World’s Best Cabin Crew” award. The airline is dedicated to delivering hospitality and efficiency at the highest level to its passengers.

No.2: ANA All Nippon Airways

ANA All Nippon Airways came in second place in this year’s top ten, but it’s taking big steps to be number one.

With the Olympics starting in 2020, ANA is working to enhance the quality of its crews to better the carrier’s hospitality service, which means recruiting new staff. Hitomi Yamamoto, head of ANA’s Inflight Services Center, said, “By combining our accumulated know-how and all sorts of ideas, we aim to be the No. 1 customer service provider in the global airline industry”.

No.3: EVA Air

EVA Air was third on this year’s list of “World’s Best Cabin Crew”, and with a cabin staff that’s sincere, attentive (even to economy passengers), and warm in the in-flight services provided, it shouldn’t be a surprise that this carrier has made it to the top five. In addition to being one of SKYTRAX most loved airline, EVA is also a Certified SKYTRAX 5-Star Airline.

No.4: Thai Airways

Thai Airways has secured the number four position this year, thanks to its attentive and friendly staff. They are continuously happy, smiling throughout every flight, and living up to the brand name.

Although Thai Airways hasn’t placed first in the Best Cabin Crew category, it did win other awards this year, including World’s Best Economy Class, World’s Best Airline Lounge Spa, and Best Economy Class Onboard Catering. The carrier vows to continue to make service and product advancements in the hopes of being the best of the best.

No.5: Singapore Airlines

Number five in this year’s list is Singapore Airlines, which has earned a reputation for excellent service. Customers rave how the service is “top notch”, very friendly, professional, attentive and of a “very high standard”. A spokesperson for the airline stated, “SIA believes their shared enthusiasm and constant desire to enhance the travel experience of customers play a role in not only receiving awards, but also in creating long-term customer satisfaction.” Although the airline is not in the business to win awards, they are honored at any time they receive them.

Following Singapore Airlines was Qatar Airways at number 6, Asiana Airlines at number 7, Japan Airlines at number 8, Cathay Pacific at number 9 and Hainan Airlines at number 10.
