Once again, Garuda Indonesia has won the hearts of passengers with their amazing cabin crew, winning the Skytrax World’s Best Cabin Crew Award for 2018. It’s the fifth year in a row the airline has received the award, and it’s well deserved.
The award considers several aspects of the crew, including their techniques, efficiency, attention, enthusiasm, attitude, friendliness and hospitality. With that said, let’s take a look at the top five that made it to this year’s list.
The airline has held the same title for five years in a row, making it the only global airline that has held this same award for as long as it has. It strives to provide excellent service to its passengers on board, regardless of which cabin you’re sitting in. “This award is also a challenge for us all in Garuda Indonesia in the future to continue to provide the best Indonesian hospitality service to the world,” said the airline’s President Director, Pahala N. Mansury.
Second in this year’s list is Singapore Airlines, which was also named the 2018 World’s Best Airline. The crew is just as amazing as the airline, offering the best they can give to all passengers on board, from first class all the way to economy. The “Singapore Girl”, as the airline calls its female flight attendants, have to go through thorough training to be a part of the crew. As a result, their professionalism and passenger treatment is excellent if not almost perfect.
ANA All Nippon Airways
Next on our list is Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA), a bump down from second place last year to third place this year. In 2017, the airline was focused on recruiting new staff to help improve their in-flight service, which seemed to have worked in their favor since they were still in this year’s top five. Even Skytrax customer reviews give ANA’s cabin crew five out of five stars, due to their hospitality, politeness, positive attitude and smiling faces.
Thai Airways came in at number four, the same place it held in last year’s list. Even as a four-star airline, Thai Airways works hard in providing the best services they can to their customers, which still is much better compared to other airlines around the globe. Even more so, Thai Airways was voted on having the best cabin crew in Thailand.
In fifth place this year is EVA Air, whereas last year, the airline was in the top three. As a five-star airline, customers have rated their cabin crew four-stars—they are friendly, efficient, attentive and do what they can to make sure the flight is enjoyable for all passengers.
Following the top five is Asiana Airlines in the number sixth spot, Japan Airlines in seventh, Cathay Pacific Airways in eighth, Hainan Airlines in ninth, and Qatar Airways in tenth.
