LATAM Airlines is making big moves as the carrier will be investing $400 million (US) to revamp their business class seat and interior cabin on over 200 of their airplanes.

By the end of 2019, LATAM is looking to overhaul their A320, A321, Boeing 777s and Boeing 767s. All new A350-1000s and Boeing 787-9s will be equipped with the newer design upon delivery. If you fly with LATAM often (or even once in a while), you will be able to experience the new cabin before the end of this year.

Let’s take a look at what this new business class seat is all about.

LATAM new business class seat is unique—the carrier experimented with flying and sleeping via a simulation, which lasted for two weeks in order to make sure the bed was just right. The result was a success, thanks to the ergonomic design. Other updates include direct-aisle access for everyone, and a seat that converts into a fully flat bed with a touch of a button. Although seat pitch and width are still unknown, it will increase from the current seat that’s 23 inches wide and 76.5 inches long.

LATAM new business class seat will feature an 18-inch entertainment screen, USB ports that charge quicker, more films and TV shows to keep you busy for hours, and better WiFi connectivity throughout the airplane.

The menu in business class will continue to be created by award-winning chefs using fresh ingredients. Most of their dishes are South American and can be paired with wines from the region selected by the very best, Héctor Vergara.

LATAM is confident in the new design, stating that “the transformation of our cabins will enable us to offer an industry-leading onboard experience and better serve each passenger with more options, flexibility and personalization”.

We can’t wait to experience the LATAM new business class seat, can you?
