Cathay Pacific was number seven in the list of top ten best business class airlines and number nine in the best business class seat, based on the 2018 Skytrax Awards. Moreover, the airline was in the top ten list of having the best cabin crew in the world. And although it’s not number one in the world, Cathay Pacific does provide its business class passengers with a noteworthy product aboard their Airbus A330 (the same product that can also be found on the Boeing 777).
Cathay Pacific A330 business class seat offers premium passengers with direct-aisle access no matter where you sit, thanks to the 1-2-1 configuration. However, the business class cabin is split up into two sections, one where most of the seats are located in, and behind it, a smaller cabin with just a few seats (if you’re looking for more privacy, we recommend the seats in this “mini-cabin”).
Each Cathay Pacific A330 business class seat measures about 75 inches long and 20 inches wide, positioned where there’s still enough privacy even for those sitting in the middle row. Once you do settle in your seat, you will notice a little cabinet on your side to store your belongings (this is also where the headphones are located) along with a built-in mirror. You don’t have to get up to make sure you are looking your best! On the outside of the cabinet, you’ll find your reading light, outlets, connectors for the entertainment screen, seat controls and a remote for the touchscreen TV. And with the ability to move the armrest up and down, you will no longer have to deal with it being in the way while sleeping.
Need to store your shoes during the flight? There’s a secret section beneath the armrest that opens and closes, and unless you ask (or have already flown in business class on Cathay Pacific), this shoe storage space can easily be missed. There’s also another pocket, opposite the shoe cupboard, where you’ll find the inflight magazines and safety card. And it doesn’t end there. You’ll find another storage space by your feet as well as a cup holder for bottles.
Cathay Pacific A330 business class seat also comes with a side table to place your devices, food or drinks on, along with a larger tray table for your meals and laptop/tablet.
If you’re on the shorter side, each seat has a little, somewhat hidden step to reach your belongings in the overhead compartment.
Other features include a 15-inch entertainment touchscreen—which has to be popped out in order to watch shows and films—multi-course regional cuisines, an upgraded version of the Seventy Eight Percent amenity kit with Jurlique products, and excellent inflight service that will leave a good mark on your journey.
Have you flown on Cathay Pacific A330 business class? If yes, how was your experience?
