From China Eastern and China Airlines to EVA and Japan Airlines, Asian carriers offer customers high-quality business class seat options aboard various aircraft. Another airline with a notable business class seat in the region is Vietnam Airlines, especially aboard their Dreamliner.
Vietnam Airlines business class cabin has 28 seats with a 1-2-1 herringbone configuration, allowing all passengers to have direct aisle access. For those traveling solo, the window seats are the best option, whereas those traveling as a couple or as a family, the middle section is the most suitable. There is no privacy window, however, due to the angle of the seats in the middle row, you won’t see much of your neighbor during the flight, even if you’re not traveling with anyone else.
The airline understands the importance of a good, restful journey, which is why they have made sure business class passengers can convert the seat into a fully-flat bed measuring 21 inches wide and a pitch of 42 inches. If you’re tall, don’t worry, the seat has plenty of space to stretch out.
Vietnam Airlines business class has multiple storage areas including a section underneath the footrest, an open storage space near the controls where the headphones are located, and another one by your knee. There is also a storage space with a lid/door on your right side of the seat where you can keep your small items such as passport, phone, wallet, etc. safe and out of view.
Other features include an easy-to-use remote to control the entertainment screen. This control also has a button to switch your personal light on/off, and another button to call a flight attendant. Separate from the remote are built-in buttons to change the seat position to whatever makes you the most comfortable, including a quick switch to put your seat upright for takeoff/landing or flat into a bed for when you’re ready to sleep. This sidewall also has a USB port, A/C outlet, and an earphone jack.
If you’re looking for a way to help pass time that doesn’t involve sleeping or reading, then catching a film or show on a 15.5-inch touch screen is exactly what you may need. Although Vietnam Airlines doesn’t offer the best range of options compared to other Asian carriers, they do have a few of the latest flicks that you’ll enjoy.
All premium passengers will receive a Parfums Charriol amenity kit with Acca Kappa products such as lip balm and lotion for your body. The kit also contains the necessities, which include earplugs, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, eyemask and three stickers. These stickers will help let the flight attendants know if you want to be woken up before a meal, woken up for duty-free, or to not be disturbed. You will also receive slippers, separately from the kit to wear throughout the duration of the flight.
Do you get excited about the food in premium cabins? Vietnam Airlines business class has some fantastic options to choose from, which vary depending on the route. Some examples include country favorites such as pho (beef noodle soup), baked barramundi fillet with Thai curry sauce, Vietnamese style sweet soup (traditional dessert), or even salmon gravlax and roasted pork pate. The airline has a great drink menu with wines, champagnes, beer, spirits and cocktails that you can pair with your meal. You won’t be disappointed!
