Although Finnair has multiple lounges around the world, one of our favorites is the Finnair Schengen Lounge, also located in Helsinki, but is only available to those traveling within Finland and some countries throughout Europe.
Spanning across 9,149 square feet of space, this business class lounge can accommodate about 288 travelers who can spread themselves out in various areas designated for different tasks. There’s a workspace, dining area, relaxation zones and even a secret space that isn’t known to everyone.
One of the things that make the Finnair Schengen Lounge enjoyable is the design. It’s modern, comfortable and has a mix of colors such as blue, tan, grey and white that helps ease jetlag.
Good food in a lounge is a must, and Finnair Schengen Lounge has just the right amount of options for those in transit, regardless if it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner. Luckily, there is more than one area serving food, also located near the main dining room. Here, you can also find tea, coffee, liquors, beer on tap, wine and soda.
If you need to surf the internet or get some work done, you can use one of the Apple computers located behind a glass wall. This is the same area you’ll find additional chairs and side tables with outlets to keep your devices charged the entire time, and unlike the dining area, this workspace tends to be quieter. You’ll also notice a playroom, perfect for those traveling with children.
Finnair Schengen Lounge is equipped with air chargers, so even if you forgot your charger, or it’s buried somewhere deep in your luggage, you don’t have to worry about your device running out of battery.
And like many lounges, Finnair Schengen Lounge also offers its travelers two shower suites to freshen up before or in-between flights.
What some may not know is that there is a little hidden area in the back of the lounge. This space has the best seating options when it comes to comfort, plus it’s very secluded.
The lounge is free for those flying in business class on Finnair, are members of Finnair Plus Platinum Lumo, Platinum and Gold members, and those who hold a oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status.
