Some SWISS Airlines premium products are way overdue for a makeover. The airline has made several changes to their flagship lounge in Kloten, and more recently to their lounge at Geneva. Now, the airline is finally working to upgrade their fleet of A340s with almost the same product that’s available on their Boeing 777-300ER.
Both SWISS first class and business class passengers will be able to experience new seats on all the A340s by this summer. Although the airline has kept the color palette, it’s reinvented where their colors of brown, grey and wood are used.
Let’s take a look at these stylish, modern and comfortable cabin seats.
SWISS Business Class Seat
SWISS business class offers travelers a modern seat that measures 6.5 feet long and can convert into a fully-flat bed. Unlike the older seats, the new ones on the A340 offer more privacy, especially for those sitting in one of the two seats in the middle section. However, the layout will remain the same, a 1-2-1 and a 2-2-1. If you’re traveling solo, we recommend you book a letter K seat for the most privacy. For those traveling together, you’re better off either the middle section or letters A and B in an odd row number.
Other features include a hanger for headphones, more storage space (in the front of you and on the side that closes) for your belongings and anything small and loose that you’re carrying with you. There’s also a 16-inch entertainment screen, a touch-screen remote, easy to use seat controls that even offer a massage function. Who said flying 10+ hours has to be hard?
SWISS First Class Seat
SWISS first class on the A340s was not on par to its competitors, which is why the new first class is a leap forward. The private suites are equipped with a built-in table lamp, perfectly-sized mini table for your drinks and devices, and a TV screen that measures 32-inches. Each suite located next to a window also has a blind that can be adjusted with a touch of the button. Those sitting in the middle section have the ability to be completely secluded via the adjustable, large privacy screen.
If you’re flying with someone else (or a family), you can invite your partner to enjoy a meal with you. They can sit and chat while sitting opposite you on the ottoman. Or, you can use it yourself if you need a little change of scenery.
SWISS Airlines A340 flies from Switzerland to Asian cities such as Tokyo and Shanghai, others include Tel Aviv, Johannesburg and even Boston. Have you already had a chance to experience either one of these seats on the Boeing 777? If so, was it everything you thought it would be?
