Customers who fly first class on British Airways will soon be able to experience a new first class seat in three years, but until then, the airline has made some notable changes available in first class. Although the design remains the same, the amenities that make flying in a premium cabin have been refreshed to improve the luxurious experience.

Let’s take a look at what changes are in the works, set to be completely rolled out by early April.

Interestingly enough, the headphones are one of the first major upgrades British Airways first class passengers will be able to use. These noise-canceling headphones were created by Meridian Audio for British Airways premium customers. The CEO of Meridian Audio, John Buchanan states, “These new headphones have been designed to significantly reduce resonance, reflection, and distortion, allowing the user to enjoy a combination of exceptional noise cancellation, excellent sound quality, and ultimate comfort.”

The mattress, sheets, pillow and even the pajamas have been upgraded. The foam mattress is made from microfibers and the sheets are now even softer (400 thread count). British designer Temperley London has created long-sleeve tops and pants pajamas for men and women, as well as unisex slippers for the airline. The pajamas are black, made from cotton, and feature a black satin collar strip (the women’s version has a shawl collar). They’re so comfortable, you’ll want a pair for yourself at home.

British Airways has also upgraded its first class amenity kits, offering passengers beautifully designed Temperley London bags. There’s a black version for men and a colorful one for women, filled with Elemis products that vary depending on if the bag is for a male or a female. Men receive eye cream, face cleansing wipe, shave gel, face moisturizer, lip balm and deodorant. Women receive two different facial cleansing wipes, rose mist, eye cream, face moisturizer, lip balm, hand cream and deodorant. There are, of course, the other basics such as a pen, earplugs, toothbrush and toothpaste.

Other upgrades include custom-designed chinaware for British Airways, drinking glasses from UK’s crystal glass creator Dartington, and tableware from the award-winning designer, Studio William.

The Director of Brand and Customer Experience for British Airways, Carolina Martinoli, said, “in this, our centenary year, we’ve sought out some of the best British designers and manufacturers to work with to ensure traveling in First with British Airways is an unforgettable experience.” And an unforgettable experience it is!
