One of the best Thai Airways lounges is their Royal First Lounge at Bangkok International Airport (BKK), which is large, open and even though it’s been around for more than 10 years, the interior still feels current.
From showers and traditional cuisine to private suites and a spa, the Thai Royal First Lounge offers you excellent options and service to help you reenergize, refresh and be ready to take on a long or short-haul flight. And to make you feel like a real VIP, you will be transported to the lounge via a golf cart.
With an area that spans 15,069 square feet, the lounge can comfortably accommodate up to 134 travelers. The main room is where you’ll find most of the seating options—a mix of leather couches and cloth seats. If you’re looking for something peaceful, grab a seat in one of the 6 private areas that feels like a mini living room with a couch, desk, chairs and television. Or, if you want to shut your eyes and catch a few dreams, head over to one of the private, slumber rooms featuring a leather daybed, standup light and table.
And if you need to finish that last-minute project or print that report, you can do so in the business area, which has computers and printers.
In terms of the cuisine, the Thai Royal First Lounge features a-la-carte and a buffet option at one end of the lounge with both Eastern and Western options. If you’re choosing a-la-carte, you can order from the menu via a tablet. Meals range and rotate all the time, but some options can include spicy coconut soup, stir-fried noodles with pork, salmon steak, curry with chicken or beef, pad thai, even fresh smoothies and so much more. Whatever you want, the staff will plate it for you—everyone is there to help you feel like a real VIP. Thai Royal First Lounge also has a bar at the front with a bartender that can whip up a unique drink or your go-to.
To help you feel refreshed as you travel in between flights or prepare for a long one, you can use one of the private shower suites featuring a rain shower, toilet, sink, L’Occtaine toiletries, luxurious towels and slippers.
One of the most beloved aspects of the Thai Royal First Lounge is the Royal Orchid Spa, where you can get a one-hour complimentary service. From a Swedish to a deep tissue massage or a sauna treatment to a foot massage, the Royal Orchid Spa at the Thai Royal First Lounge is a heavenly escape.
Those who are flying in first class on Thai Airways or another Star Alliance airline, as well as Royal Orchid Plus Platinum cardholders, have access to the Thai Royal First Lounge in BKK.
