Airbus has been working on a new jet for several years called the A330neo and TAP Portugal is the first airline to debut this airplane with the Airspace by Airbus cabin interior.

TAP launched the first flight in December from Lisbon to São Paulo, and the first one to the US via Chicago from Lisbon just this month. The airline will continue to add new routes to the US and even Europe over the next few years. Those who fly aboard this aircraft in business class will be able to sit in the CL6710 by Recaro seat that’s forward-facing, fully-flat and offers direct aisle access for all of the 34 passengers sitting in the premium cabin.

Those sitting next to a window seat will be able to choose from two different options: one seat closer to the aisle or one seat closer to the window (the one closer to the window has a bit more privacy). Those sitting in the middle row can also select one of two options: seats that are further apart for those traveling alone, or ones that are closer together for those traveling with a family member or friend. However, those in the middle row do not have any sort of large separator between the two seats, which doesn’t provide much privacy.

Although the airline opted for fabric for the seats, the rest of the seat has been designed with faux wood for elegance with some leather details like those on the armrests. Nonetheless, the seats are very comfortable for any long-haul flight, which measure 22 inches wide and 44 inches of pitch, and to give travelers a bit more width, the armrest can be lowered.

Each TAP A330neo business class seat is equipped with a 16-inch entertainment screen and an accompanying remote to control the screen, although the remote doesn’t have a smaller touchscreen like you find on other airlines. In order to stay entertained, passengers can enjoy a variety of films both old and new, TV shows and even games to help pass the hours on the long-haul flight. Aside from the entertainment, TAP A330neo business class seat has several enclosed storage spots around it including one small one by the seat cushion that can fit a phone or wallet, and another one next to the headrest that slides open for some larger items (although it’s only large enough for an iPad mini or kindle).

When it comes to the amenities, TAP A330neo business class passengers receive all the necessities including noise-canceling headphones, full-sized pillow and duvet (no mattress, unfortunately), and a new amenity kit by Castelbel made from canvas. The kit is decorated with a landscape found in Portugal, of which there are five variations. The amenity kit includes Castelbel lip balm and lotion, as well as socks, earplugs, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, nail clippers, hair comb, pen, refreshing towel and eyemask.

When it comes down to the food, TAP A330neo business class passengers can rest assured they will be able to dine on delicious meals that range from Western and Portugues flavors, some of which include pea soup, beef filet or seared tuna or salmon, to name a few. Pair it with one of the seasonal wines and you’ve got yourself the best combination.

Although the A330neo and business class are very new for TAP Portugal, we hope you can experience all it has to offer, including more overhead bin space, mood lighting throughout, and fantastic seats that provide you with the right amount of comfort for trips across seas.
