Cathay Pacific first class passengers have access to some terrific lounges around the world, one of the best being the signature lounge at Hong Kong International Airport. Another lounge we love spending time in is the one at Heathrow International Airport, designed in an apartment-like setting to make you feel comfortable no matter what you’re doing before you take off.

From the cuisine to the amenities, Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge at Heathrow is a perfect place to recharge. So for those of you who’ll venture into this airport and have access, here’s what awaits for you inside.

Cathay Pacific is known for its famous Noodle Bar serving mouthwatering options such as Dan Dan noodles or the flat rice noodle soup with fish balls. Aside from the Noodle Bar, the lounge offers a dining area with an a la carte menu, and then another section called the Pantry. The Pantry serves coffee, tea, water, juice, various pastries like Danish pastries and muffins, yogurt, parfait, and mini sandwiches—the perfect place to grab something light.

Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge at Heathrow also has a self-serve bar with a decent selection of liquors, as well as a few wines, beer and soda. If you want a cocktail, the bartender in the business class lounge can fix you a drink and a staff member will bring it to the first class lounge to you (the two lounges are right next door to each other). Drinks range from a Bloody Mary, Mojito, White Russian, Old Fashioned and more.

Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge at Heathrow has been designed with soft colors of browns, greys and blues with wood finishes and mellow lights to help you ease into a restful mood. Plus, the seats are comfortable too, with chairs and couches made from leather or suede. Although the lounge is not very large in size, it feels very roomy as it doesn’t get as full as the business lounge next door.

One small downside is that the showers and restrooms are located outside of the lounge and shared with the business class lounge, so shower availability can be a bit limited. If they are occupied, make sure to sign up on their waitlist if you wish to use the shower facilities. Nonetheless, the showers are equipped with all the amenities in case you forget something, including shaving cream, razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, cotton pads, Qtips, Aesop lotion, shampoo, conditioner and body wash/soap.

Another part that we love about this first class lounge is the large windows that allow for plenty of natural light, and the views of the tarmac and the city. Who can say no to that?

Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge at Heathrow is open every day from 5:30am to 10:30pm (on Sunday it’s open at 7:30am) and is available for those flying in First Class on Cathay Pacific or another oneworld airline partner, as well as those who are part of Cathay’s Marco Polo Club or hold an Emerald status.
