It’s been a while since Cathay Pacific has had any major upgrades for premium passengers, until now.

The upgrade doesn’t have much to do with the seat itself, rather with the amenities offered. Bamford, a brand based in the U.K. that sells wonderful skincare products, sustainable clothing, gifts and more, has partnered with Cathay Pacific to offer passengers sitting in first and business class better linen and amenity kit products (goodbye Aesop). But, there’s more to it than that—let’s take a closer look at these little but mighty updates.

Passengers sitting in business class can enjoy a Bramford mattress topper that’s incredibly soft to the touch, two comforters and full-sized pillow created from eco-friendly, 400-count thread cotton, and luxurious slippers to keep your feet warm throughout the flight. Unfortunately, Cathay Pacific still does not offer business class passengers pajamas. The Bamford amenity kit will be available in four different colors, featuring specially designed lip balm, hand cream and mist using gentile ingredients for the skin.

Passengers sitting in first class can enjoy a customized note from the crew placed on their seat, hot towel, “glass of sparkling JING jasmine silver needle tea”, new dinnerwear made by Noritake (Japanese), Robert Welch (British) and Riedel (Czech). Bamford amenity kits will be different for men versus women, but both will offer Bamford products in glass containers instead of plastic ones to keep up with the sustainability theme. Additionally, first class customers will also receive an upgraded mattress and full-sized pillow made from the same cotton as those for business class customers but with a 600-count thread. If first class customers request a turndown service, a pillow mist will be provided to help ease into a restful sleep. As for the menu, Cathay Pacific will offer lighter cuisines for breakfast and dinner/lunch as well as superfood bowls and cold-pressed juices that can be ordered after each meal.

These refreshed amenities in Cathay Pacific business and first class will be rolled out on all their long-haul flights (some are already available on certain routes). In preparation for the 2021 release of Cathay Pacific’s new first class seat, these changes are a good start, but we can’t wait to see what comes next beyond the amenities. Can you?
