Flying in a premium seat is probably one of the best feelings you can have whenever you travel to a destination—be it near or far. From the ground all the way up into the air, business class comes with a ton of perks we love, and so will you (if you don’t already).

With comfortable beds, luxurious bedding and amenity kits, pajamas, meals created by world-renowned chefs, and lounges, the front of the plane is one of the best places to be. Once you try business class, it’s hard to turn back.

Let’s take a look at each of these magnificent perks a little more closely.

The Bed

More and more airlines are diverting away from the reclined business class and remodeling their seats to convert into fully-flat beds. Some airlines, such as Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines have even taken a step ahead of others and are now offering double beds in business class.

Other amenities that come with sitting in a business class seat are the plush and large pillows, blankets and a mattress pad to keep you warm and comfortable. Airlines usually offer a turndown service as well—similar to the one you would get in a hotel room. Pajamas and slippers are also provided on many carriers, so sleeping soundly is pretty much a given.

The Food

Food in business class is a major leap ahead when compared to the peanuts and soft drinks served in economy. Airlines partner with major award-winning chefs from all over the globe who create magnificent multi-course meals, and various options to choose from as well. Juicy steak, lobster, grilled vegetables, quinoa…the list goes on and on. Plus, meals are also paired with hand-selected wines and champagnes (or beer if you prefer that instead), making you feel like you’re in a five-star restaurant instead of an airplane 30,000 feet above the ground.

The Bar

We love business class because there’s more than just your seat. There are several airlines including Emirates, Etihad, Korean Air, Qantas and Virgin Australia that offer an in-flight bar for premium passengers (sitting in both business and first class). These bars are usually only available on the A380, but if you are flying on Airbus’ largest commercial jet, then rest assured you will enjoy stepping away from your seat, and having a drink while interacting with other fellow travelers. You’ll feel as though you’ve been transported back to the good old days of flying.

The Mini-Bar

Aside from the onboard lounge/bar, you may be lucky to enjoy your own mini-bar in business class as well. Currently, only Emirates business class offers a personal bar built right into your seat, so if you do book your flight on this carrier, expect to have some extra refreshments right within hands reach. Other airlines do offer a self-service mini-bar in the business class cabin (either right before the economy cabin or in front of business class cabin). However, it will require you to get up out of your seat to grab something to quench your thirst during non-mealtime hours.

The Service

Another reason we love business class? The service. Imagine asking for a drink or something to eat (almost) anytime during the flight? Or, someone fluffing up your pillows, preparing your bed for sleep, and setting up your dinnerware before every meal? Whatever you need, flight attendants are at your service, and most airlines have multiple flight attendants working business class for an even more personalized experience.
